Hanmer Springs Adventure Run - Official Site
Shorter Distance. Still All Adventure.
Don’t let the distance fool you, the 7km course still packs the adventure and the Hanmer trail experience. Designed for those chasing a taste of the adventure without the full mountain climb, this loop winds through hillside trails, forest tracks, and open views above the village.
A feel good challenge that’s perfect for first-timers, social runners, or anyone keen to experience the buzz of trail running with a loud village finish. And yes, you still get to ring the bell.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Don’t let the distance fool you — this 7km loop is packed with charm, trail, and just enough challenge to earn that finish line bell.
Starting in the heart of Hanmer Springs, you’ll ease into the course on a short stretch of road before heading into a mix of flowing singletrack and scenic forest paths. The course winds through the Dog Stream Reserve and the edge of Hanmer Forest, where tall pines and gentle undulations keep things interesting without being overwhelming.
With only 197m of elevation gain, it’s the perfect option for first-timers, young runners, or anyone keen to soak up the event day energy without tackling Mt Isobel.
You’ll finish right in the village centre, where the 1879 firehouse bell awaits, because no matter the distance, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.
