Course Aid Stations

Be part of the heartbeat of the event!
You’ll help keep runners fuelled, hydrated, and smiling out on the course. Expect a mix of handing out nutrition, refilling bottles, sorting drop bags, and giving plenty of encouragement as participants come through. This role is high-energy and hugely rewarding. |

Course Marshal
|
Course Marshals are essential to the flow and safety of the event. You’ll be positioned at key points to guide runners, cheer them on, and keep them moving in the right direction. No need to know the area — we’ll get you to your spot and support you throughout.

Tail End Charlies
|
Follow the final runner of each distance to ensure everyone makes it safely through the course. This is a great role if you love being on the trails and supporting athletes who might need a little extra motivation. You’ll walk or run at an easy pace and stay in contact with event HQ. Finish-line medal included!

Bag Drop
|
Support runners as they drop off and collect their gear on event day. You’ll help organise bags, keep things running smoothly, and make sure athletes can focus on their run without any stress.

Be there for the best moment of the day — the finish!
You’ll hand out medals, congratulate participants, help with flow, and share in some emotional, joyful finish-line moments. One of the most rewarding volunteer roles on event day. |

Athlete Registration
|
Help welcome our runners to Hanmer Springs!
You’ll assist athletes with collecting their race packs, answering questions, and setting a positive tone for their event. This is a friendly, fun role and a big part of making participants feel prepared and excited. |

Prize Giving Assistant

Join us at the podium to help award prizes and celebrate athlete achievements. You’ll assist event staff, organise category winners, and be part of an exciting finish to the day.
